Einstein Telescope at 4th German-Dutch Borderlands Conference
On 31.03.2022, the 4th German-Dutch Borderlands Conference will take place in the Aachen Coronation Hall. During the conference, new goals of cross-border cooperation will be presented and a balance sheet of the past years will be drawn up. Thematically, the Borderlands Conference will be based on the contents of the North Rhine-Westphalia-Dutch Borderlands Agenda. Due to Aachen’s geographical location in the Belgium-Germany-Netherlands border triangle and the corresponding Euregio Meuse-Rhine, the conference will also include elements of trinational cooperation.
One of the topics on the agenda is the Einstein Telescope, a next-generation gravitational wave observatory. The Einstein Telescope is one of the most prestigious projects in international fundamental research and could be realized in the region between Aachen, Maastricht and Liège. The Einstein Telescope will be presented during the Borderlands Conference. Members of the parliaments and governments will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the fascinating science and the perspectives for the border region.
