Einstein Telescope meets Walloon technology companies

Born at the heart of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, the Einstein Telescope is reaching yet again beyond its borders to connect with technology companies across Wallonia During a series of after-work events, ET Wallonia will be engaging with technology companies across Wallonia. Together with AKT for Wallonia and the local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, ET Wallonia is bringing companies closer to this European science project and to the technological and industrial opportunities it offers.

What does the Einstein Telescope have to offer us?

Major scientific projects often yield more than just new knowledge. Technologies developed for research regularly find their way into everyday applications later on. For example, the World Wide Web was developed at CERN to make it easier for scientists to share information with one another. The technology behind GPS is also closely linked to decades of space travel and scientific research.

What innovations and industrial opportunities might the Einstein Telescope, in turn, deliver?

To be able to measure gravitational waves with unprecedented precision in the future, technologies are needed that push the boundaries of what is possible in many fields. This offers opportunities for companies wishing to contribute their knowledge and experience to the future observatory.

To introduce companies to these opportunities, ET Wallonia is organising a roadshow visiting five locations in Wallonia. Companies can attend the event that suits them best:

The after-work events take place from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm. Participants will gain a better understanding of:

• the Einstein Telescope’s European scientific ambitions;
• the industrial opportunities for Walloon technology and industrial companies;
• the key technologies required for the development of the future observatory;
• the parties already involved in the project and the opportunities to become part of the industrial ecosystem surrounding the Einstein Telescope.

Each session concludes with a networking opportunity. Companies can engage directly with people involved in the Einstein Telescope, ask questions and explore how their own expertise and technology might align with the project’s needs.ct.
