Einstein Telescope also a priority for new Dutch government
With the text below in the coalition agreement of the three political parties that will form the future Dutch government, they expressly declare their support for the Einstein Telescope.
The Netherlands remains fully committed to the Einstein Telescope. To this end, we are actively seeking cooperation with Germany and upgrading the ETpathfinder.
Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, CEO of ET NL, the Dutch organisation behind the Einstein Telescope, responds enthusiastically: “It’s great that the Einstein Telescope is once again becoming a national priority. Of course, we had been counting on it a little. It is important for Limburg’s and the Netherlands’ earning capacity. The expansion of the ETpathfinder in Maastricht is a particularly welcome signal, which will further increase our chances in the lobby. This gives us renewed confidence to present a rock-solid candidacy together with our partners from Belgium, North Rhine-Westphalia and, soon, federal Germany.”
