Einstein Telescope exhibition at Marché de la Transition
During the Marché de la Transition in Montzen on Sunday 27 September, a participation exhibition will focus on the Einstein Telescope. At the heart of the exhibition are residents’ ideas, questions and concerns about what the arrival of the telescope could mean for people, their living environment and the landscape. Visitors can discuss these topics with the participation team and other experts involved.
Participation, art and landscape
The exhibition presents results from the participation process led by Hasselt University, recently joined by experts from the University of Liège. Topics include ideas on water management, tourism, the use of materials and possible future uses of existing infrastructure.
Artists will also present work inspired by the Einstein Telescope. Landscape architect Mike Tomassen of HeusschenCopier Landschapskracht will discuss approaches to restoring and improving the landscape after potential construction work. Architecture students will present their designs in the morning.
Visitors can also use their own phones to listen to sound artworks about gravitational waves, created by Electronic Music Production students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama using data from KU Leuven.
