UNamur officially joins the Einstein Telescope project
The Université de Namur (UNamur) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to join the consortium of universities and knowledge institutions collaborating on the Einstein Telescope project.
In this agreement, the participating universities and knowledge institutions declare their commitment to working together on research, development, and feasibility preparations in view of the tender for the construction of the Einstein Telescope in the border region of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Carine Michiels, Vice-Rector for Research at UNamur, enthusiastically stated: “We are thrilled to be part of the consortium. This is a remarkable project that fosters new potential collaborations and generates long-term economic benefits for the regions involved.”
By signing this agreement, UNamur aims to actively contribute to the scientific work and the development of the telescope. In doing so, the university also highlights its commitment to innovation and international cooperation.
In total, 20 universities and knowledge institutions from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany have signed the Memorandum of Understanding. In Wallonia, the Université de Namur follows the example of the Université de Liège, the Université de Mons, UC Louvain, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
